Would you like to start attracting strangers to your website, educate them about your products and services, turn them into customers and then have them become part of your S.E.O. team, by linking back to your website from their social media accounts and spreading the word about your business.
When I started building my first high traffic websites back in 2002 using a tool called SiteBuildIt I soon realised the importance of quality educational content to get search engine rankings and drive a flood of traffic to my website each day. Creating blogs that attract strangers, educate and solve their problems and get them to take action, is one of the most powerful customer acquisition strategies you have at your disposal.
Content is King – Ken Evoy
There is a fundamental problem for 90% of businesses and that is that they either don’t do any content marketing, or the marketing they are doing is half asses, with no real direction, targeting or plan.
Does this sound like your approach to content marketing?
You have a business website, it looks good and gets updated now and then, you publish a newsletter, and the occasional post to facebook. You just don’t see how likes and comments equal sales. Every now and then you do a blog post, but you don’t really know what to write, it gets bugger all traffic, and you don’t really get this whole blogging thing and how its suppose to help you sell.
Well if this is you-you are not alone. I study, test, tweak and measure this stuff day in and day out. But if you are busy working in your business or on your business, you don’t have time to look into the inner working of s.e.o, traffic, content marketing pillars and traffic.
Why do I need Backlinks? Comments and Shares?
Google has millions of customers who expect it to give them the best results when they are researching a topic. It uses a number of factors to decide these pages. If you have loads of people linking to your website, leaving comments and sharing your articles with their friends it makes your business look real and of value to other people, so Google is more likely to let you show up in the search results it gives your potential customers when they are looking for you.
So with that in mind – here are my 4 ways to UNSUCKIFY your blog posts and transform them into pinnable, postable, sharable articles so you can get your customers to do the S.E.O backlinking for you.
So how do we do this? I have four tips for you to un-suckify your blogging efforts.
- Make content that is worth sharing.
- Write a blog or landing page.
- Use targeting to write a blog post that your ideal customer can identify with.
- Solve a problem, answer a question, provide value. Establish yourself as the authority on this topic who people turn to for advice.
2. Make it easy for people to pin, post and share you.
- Add social sharing toolbars
- Add tweetable quotes
- Create video content
- Create an embeddable infographic people can share on their blogs and link back to you.
3 Graphics – Think about how you look on social.
